The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority discriminated against black and foreign-born workers in recent firings, according to a new federal lawsuit. Former employees Kenneth Harriott and Tony Ojoh claim that Angel Pena, the head of an internal management division, recently fired nearly 40 employees, all but two of whom were either black or people of color of foreign origin. “WMATA engaged in systemic discrimination in favor of white employees,” they claim.
